PE and Sports Premium Funding
Sports Premium Funding at East Haddon CE Primary School
East Haddon CE Primary School, like all primary schools, receives Sports Premium Funding from the
government. The funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport
provision. The amount of funding allocated to each school is based on a lump sum of £16,000 plus £10 per
child on roll.

- Continuing to train children to undertake leadership roles,

- Maintaining our 'Gold' level School Games mark.
Pupil Premium Funding
The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, a funding stream first available in the 2012-13 financial year, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and their wealthier peers. Funding is also available for Looked After Children and children Adopted from Care, together with children of families in the services. This funding, specifically targeted at tackling disadvantage, must reach the pupils who need the additional support it brings the most. Each year the Pupil Premium is allocated to schools and is clearly identifiable in the school’s budgeting. It is for schools to decide how this funding is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.
Schools receive the following funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years:
- £1,480 for pupils in Reception Year to Year 6
Schools will also receive £2,345 for each pupil who has left local-authority care because of one of the following:
- adoption
- a special guardianship
- a child arrangements order
- a residence order
If a pupil has been registered as eligible for free school meals and has also left local-authority care for any of the reasons above, they will attract the £2,300 rate.
